Meet our Members

Kaye Bache-SnyderKaye Bache-Snyder
Member since 1972
Journalist, poet, magazine editor, educator, book reviewer. Publishes short stories, creative nonfiction, poetry, and feature stories in numerous publications and anthologies.

Now a full-time writer, Kaye Bache-Snyder has enjoyed work in university teaching, worldwide tour leadership, public relations, administration, and newspaper reporting. She taught in the U.S., Canada, and on board Semester-at-Sea. She teaches writing workshops for the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. She has a Ph.D. in English, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and two MA degrees in journalism and in English literature, University of Colorado. A student at the Banff School of Fine Arts, she continues a life-long avocation in art.

Kaye was a Boulder County correspondent for the Denver Post and a reporter
and region editor for the Longmont Daily Times-Call. She was editor of
Trail and Timberline, the publication of the Colorado Mountain Club. She
won awards for investigative journalism from the Inland Daily Press
Association and for magazine features from the Society of Professional
Journalists. Her reviews and editorials appear regularly in Small Press
Review. Her short stories appear in Aethlon, Earth's Daughters, Pudding,
Short Story, Thema, and Vincent Brother's Review. Her recent essays appear in Blueline, Heartlands, Thema, and Under the Sun. In 2005, she won first
place in poetry from the National Federation of Presswomen for Pinnacles and
Plains, a poetry chapbook published by Finishing Line Press. Her poems to
date appear in over 150 literary journals or anthologies. She was awarded a
writing residency at Hedgebrook in Washington to complete a novel. In 2001,
2005, and 2006, the Denver Woman's Press Club honored her writing with its
Founder's Award for overall quality of writing.
